Score another victory for clean diesel vehicles everywhere. The bright data analysts at Edmunds.com have reported that the payback times for diesel engine vehicles currently beat those of hybrids. There are a number of factors that affect payback times, but there is explicit discussion surrounding the attractive payback of the Jetta TDI. According to its EPA fuel economy, and at the current national average for diesel fuel prices, it takes a mere 4.1 years to pay back the Jetta TDI premium.
