Tax credit for VW’s TDI Clean Diesels

As if the everyday savings at the pump weren’t enough, the IRS recently confirmed all three Volkswagen TDI Clean Diesel models qualify for the federal government’s Advanced Lean Burn Technology Motor Vehicle tax credit. Given out to the nation’s most efficient vehicles, the credit will be worth 1,300 dollars this coming tax season. Power. Efficiency. And one big honkin’ tax break. It’s what the people want.

Volkswagen announces 2009 Jetta TDI Cup driver lineup

Herndon, VA – After four days of intense testing at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, Volkswagen is proud to announce they have selected the next 30 drivers for the upcoming season of the Jetta TDI Cup. Drivers were evaluated both on and off the track to determine skill level, potential and overall ability. After various driving, media readiness and physical fitness requirements were assessed, the series’ 30 participants were selected from a field of hundreds. The Volkswagen-operated spec series, which is entering its second season, will take the green flag on its SCCA Pro Racing-sanctioned events on April 24th, at Virginia International Raceway. Drivers selected to compete in the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup include:

The Jetta TDI Cup car is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder TDI clean diesel engine with 6-speed, double-clutch, automatic DSG transmission. The car is only slightly modified from stock with race suspension and brakes.
